I find the answers to 95% of my questions online (google as well as online dictionaries). However, I LOVE one of my paper dictionaries more than the rest - my 1000+ pages visual dictionary. It has pictures of everything

all my general stuff I get from dictionaries installed on my PC or online, but I still have a few specialist legal dictionaries that are unavailable in digital format. And to be honest, I'm a bit of a romantic, and like to have an excuse to leaf through the pages of a good old fashioned dictionary ... and perhaps get waylaid by some word I've never heard of before

Yes. I found that a good dictionary usually contains a better researched, written and presented description. Simply because of the time, effort and caliber of people involved in their creation.
On-line is better for "quick and dirty" look-up, especially in the fast moving fields like technology. Or if it involves some very obscure bit of information that doesn't really belong in a dictionary but more in a reference book somewhere.

Between CD-ROMs and Babylon 8 I have pretty much immediate access to dozens of dictionaries, thesauri, encyclopaedias etc. (in the case of Babylon 8, dozens all through one interface). The dictionaries are the same as the printed ones. I think this approach actually helps to improve quality, because quick and wide-ranging access to reference works allows you to factor more possibilities into the decision-making process. Online sources are a secondary port of call for me and are often (like Kudoz!) a bit dodgy.
