Hi there, I am new to subtitling. It would be great if someone could recommend a subtitling software. I need to subtitle avi format videos. All suggestions greatly apreciated. Thanks & Regards, Róisín | | | Cristina Popescu (X) Romania Local time: 23:21 English to Romanian + ...
Hi, Roisin, and welcome! You could try EZTitles (www.eztitles.com) as a professional subtitling software. They have a one-month trial period when you can use it fully. As all professional software, it's quite pricy, unfortunately (around 2,500 euros), but you can buy it in installments, with no interest. They also have very good technical support. Hi Roisin, Try Subtitle workshop. It is free, reliable and easy to use. Subtitle Workshop is very popular software in the world of subtitling. Although it does not support all Asian unicode languages, you'll feel convenient as it fully supports your language pair. | | | Cristina Popescu (X) Romania Local time: 23:21 English to Romanian + ... Yes, Subtitle Workshop is an option, but not for professional subtitling. | |

What about final cut pro? I used it a couple of times, it seems very professional | | | Softel Swift Create or Spot | Mar 3, 2011 |

See more I personally own a Softel Swift Create licence (they offer a special bundle price for open and teletext variants, http://www.softelgroup.com/Our-Products/Swift-Create) but Spot also is a good software: it is slightly less expensive and very user friendly (http://www.spotsoftware.nl/spot.html). Try the demo on their web site. Both are quite expensive, but well worth the cost! I agree with Cristina: Subtitle Workshop is absolutely inappropriate for professional subtitling (as well as any other free subtitling software). I hope this will be useful! ▲ Collapse | | | Yuri Dubrov Russian Federation Local time: 23:21 English to Russian + ... Some other progs | Mar 4, 2011 |
