Perhaps not everybody knows that there is a portable version of OmegaT. You can find it here: http://www.winpenpack.com/main/download.php?view.1083 (of course you must have winPenPack’s x-launcher on your pen drive (or usb hard disc) I’ve just added it on my winPenPack and it works. I don't have the x-launcher but it also works for me (although I had to download Java the first time I ran it). The unpacked version without Java is 15 MB, but when it downloads Java, it puts the Java engine in the same folder tree, and then the unpacked version is 120 MB large. Nice to have the configuration files in the same folder (in a folder named "User"). I'm under the impression that an official OmegaT version can also be used portably, with a little tweaking of the startup BAT file, but I'm not sure how that works. What if the machine doesn't have Java on it? Is there a portable version of Java that one has to install on the portable drive? The version of OmegaT with Java is a Windows EXE installer version, after all. | |

Instead of launching java -jar just launch jre\bin\java -jar Didier | | | There is no moderator assigned specifically to this forum.
