Dear colleagues,
I am slowly starting to be fed up with the following behavior in OpenOffice Writer :
When you have a normal text and a table somewhere, clicking on a table cell makes OoWriter shift (significantly) the vertical position of the display (an unwanted scrolling). When clicking back on the normal text, the display is shifted in the opposite direction.
I have found that this annoying "feature" makes it almost impossible to cut-and-paste words in the text into a table, as the display is shifted exactly when you attempt to paste the selected word into the chosen position.
Does anyone know how to turn off this incredibly annoying "feature" ? Thank you ! ▲ Collapse

Standard version of OpenOffice?
Oct 5, 2010
I cannot repeat this in my version of OpenOffice (3.2.0 on Linux Fedora). I can click any where in visible text or table and there's no scrolling even when there's more than one page showing.
How are you trying to paste? With the centre mouse button/wheel?
What are your settings at Tools>Options...>View for "Mouse positioning" and "Middle mouse button"?
