I would like to ask...is there any development to adapt CAT programs to Linux and other operating systems (not only for Windows)? And can MT tools replace CAT tools in near future? I mean CAT programs generally (Wordfast, Trados, Deja vu..). Thanks.

There are some Linux compatible CAT tools - see here.
But as for MT and CAT, these are two different things. MT will complement CAT, but not replace it.

Well, Wordfast Pro seems to be available as a native Linux version nowadays, but I've heard it doesn't work with OpenOffice, which would be very sad. Haven't yet tested it though.

The thread that you linked to is quite old, so Swordfish must be added to the list (www.maxprograms.com). Swordfish also works on Windows and MacOS.
Another cross platform tool, although not quite a CAT, but features many CAT-related batch processing utilities, and at that, is FREE, is the Okapi Framework (http://okapi.opentag.com).

Thanks. And what about SDL Trados, Wordfast. Deja vu, Star Transit and Acros. Are they run with Linux? If not, can we expect in near future that they will be able to work with Linux or other operating sysstem except Windows?

There are Wordfast Pro and Wordfast Classic being two very different programs co-marketed under the same brand. Wordfast Pro should run under most Linux distros, a genuine Sun’s JRE is a must.
As for Wordfast Classic, this question does not make sense. WFC does not run under Linux, under Windows, under Mac OS etc. It is a set of VBA macros that runs within Microsoft Office. Therefore, WFC will run everywhere, where Microsoft Office Word is fully supported.
Other mentioned programs, AFAIK, do not run under Linux.
If not, can we expect in near future that they will be able to work with Linux or other operating sysstem except Windows?
You should ask the respective vendors, not this forum.

- WordFast Pro – yes; WordFast Classic – no, for reasons explained by "esperantisto"
- SDL Trados – no
- StarTransit – no
- Across – no
Neither of the three above is likely to add Linux on their list of supported OS.
And can MT tools replace CAT tools in near future?
IMO, never, unless the mankind invents AI.

No, not really. However, there is development to develop CAT programs for more than one platform, such as Linux. Some CAT tools are available that work on Linux. I would recommend someting, but I don't want this post to be deleted because of rule 3 ("no advertising").
