I put my profile on Linkedin, got almost 50 connections and one recommendation... I joined 5 groups... and I have no idea what to do next.

What should I do to get direct (non-agency) clients? How do I offer my services to people without being accused of spamming or looking pushy?

See who actually needs translation !!!
Who are your clients now, and what are THEIR competitors
Who would YOU LIKE to work for
In WHAT AREAS lie YOUR competences
See if they are within your network and contact them specifically..

Check the websites of your contacts, is their website in multiple languages (and how good is it??)

Okay, I am highly specialized: IT and medical translation, English-Czech. Assume I found someone from a company I would like to work for. Should I tell this prospect that I offer translation service when I ask for introduction through a common contact? Or should I say something more neutral, so that I am not pushy?
