On the period of validity of a licence ... the extent and procedures for taking into account ... Explanation: ... payment for its issue. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs (2007-09-09 16:25:47 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- not sure about "placing the payment" - maybe "accounting for the payment" or "allocating the payment". If it weren't for this second part, "fee" would be better than "amount of payment". -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs (2007-09-09 16:57:42 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- We're getting there! The advantage of "fee" is that you don't need "amount of", so you finish up with "the fee for its issue and the procedure for paying it/the fee". I now understand the original - it's about how to pay the fee and not how the fee is entered into the accounts. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs (2007-09-09 17:19:04 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- There's still a problem! I thought originally that it was how the fee was entered into the state accounts, and you've now confirmed this. So we need something like "and what budgets the fee is allocated to" or "and how the fee is processed". -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs (2007-09-09 17:20:23 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- Actually a one-word change would suffice: "and the procedure for processing the fee". |
