neutral  ViBe: I'd go with "state" OR "condition," but rephrasing the whole thing using verbs would work even better./"Status" describes legal aspects, while what is meant here is their FINANCIAL STATE/CONDITION (SOUNDNESS)./ + "assetS preserv." is grammatically flawed.

  -> It depends. Having consulted dictionaries and a native speaker, I would go with "status".

1. «… з питань стану збереження активів» стосується не «контрактів», а всього речення: «… дотримання актів законодавства, планів, процедур, контрактів ЩОДО питань…» = іншими словами: the audit seeks to check the office’s/organization’s/agency’s compliance with legislation, plans, policies, procedures, regulations, agreements, etc. regarding the way (public) assets are maintained/kept …

2. I’d argue that the word “стан” is redundant and can be safely skipped in English, which generally tends to be much more concise and succinct than many other languages (see the links below).
