Yes, absolutely, there are women in this industry who can be very intellectual. But I don't think that it is the first thing that comes to mind when using this word. It's all about the prejudice associated with it..
If you want to communicate a more positive idea, then you have to use a more respectful term, such as "sex worker" or even "escort". Then and only then, "intellectual sex worker" may be understood as a prostitute who writes books.

The same job can be thought of in very different ways - just like "Garbage man" has a very negative connotation as opposed to "Refuse collector" which sounds neat and professional. It will be much harder to include the latter in an expression that takes the actual profession out of its context.

How’s about an intellectual who is, as a matter of fact, earning his/her living with that? A real prostitute who happens to be an intellectual as well? Is it that hard to imagine? I remember one from brothels of İstanbul. She was very famous because she fought to get social benefits from the state. A campaigner of social rights and a column writer. Flesh and bone intellectual prostitute who is exact opposite of definition suggested here.
