Swedish term or phrase: Utflykstmål
Hello

This is above an article about visiting Astrid Lindgren's childhood home etc.

I have the feeling that the Swedish refers to both the educational aims of the guided tours and the place itself but can't find a short expression in English to convey this

Can anyone help please

(excursion) destination
Explanation:
Destination is what ur talking about in brochure language, I'd say. 'Tourist destination', excursion destination... there are other ways of saying it too. Which is another way to say 'place to visit.

I could have added ... 'See if this gets you there...'

agree  Christopher Schröder: Places to visit plural seems a good bet. I wouldn't use it in the singular though.

Utflyktsmål
Journey's End

Explanation:
Perhaps the asker should look up the word with the right spelling!

I cannot discount the ambiguity of the term and agree with the majority opinion that it isn't equivocal.

But, if this is the title of the article, something more is needed.

Example sentence(s):
  • Boka biljetter till musikaler på Broadway och Manhattan sightseeing, upplev Gospel i Harlem och populära utflykstmål som Frihetsgudinnan
