Swedish term or phrase: Du kan spara betalda semesterdagar över 20
I can't manage to wring clarity out of this sentence:

"Du kan spara betalda semesterdagar över 15, under förutsättning att Du inte samma år tar ut tidigare sparad semester."

Is this saying that, in order to "save up" days of leave, you have to do so in amounts *greater* than 15 days?

In other words, I would have to do so in a block of at least 16 days?

Thanks

Two suggestions:
1) You can roll-over more than 15 paid vacation days, provided you do not take out previously saved vacation days in the same year.
2) Vacation days over and above the 15 obligatory vacation days, can be rolled-over providing you do not take out previously saved vacation days in the same year.
To validate the 2nd option, you would have to confirm with the source as the source text does not actually say this but infers it.

Similar to Chris S, I have to question TechLawDC's "winter holiday leave" and "20".

Thank you. The key point of confusion for me was the meaning of "över [X]" -- based on your and others' answers, it seems that the original text isn't 100% clear on this either. (As for the 15-vs.-20 issue, see my discussion comment.)

Explanation:
This is how I would translate "spara", as to carry over the x to the next year.

ALTERNATIVE (better): you can roll over accumulated annual leave days in excess of 20, to the next year.
(According to some company jargon, "semesterdagar" are winter holiday leave days, but in the most general sense they are total annual leave days.)
(Note that there may be a limit on the number of rollover years.)

agree  Deane Goltermann: The 'jargon' in London where my son works is 'save annual leave days' tho roll-over says this also. I don't think 'carry over' is good in this context, and there's nothing about saving these undefined 'winter holidays.'

neutral  Christopher Schröder: If it weren’t for the 20 and the winter and the wording, I would agree
