Livestock / Animal Husbandry / Horses - welfare regulations
Swedish term or phrase: fodergiva
From animal welfare regulations on the keeping of horses:

1 § Hästar ska utfodras enligt följande:
1. med individuellt anpassad och välbalanserad fodergiva,
2. med daglig tillräcklig tillgång till grovfoder för att tillgodose behovet av växtfiber och sysselsättning, ...

In many contexts this could probably simply be translated as feed, but here I am trying to find a word to distinguish fodergiva from other types of feed such as haylage.

English translation:feed
Explanation:
"Fodergiva" includes all that the horse is given to eat: hay, ensilage, oats, concentrate, etc.

You are probably thinking about "kraftfoderergiva", which is the concentrate feed.

Thanks very much. In the context I think it may be appropriate to use "feed ration", but you have put me back on the right track!
