Car and Motoring Insurance (for driving on public highway) Explanation: Public Highway Insurance would connote roadworks. I can't see that a motoring insurance can be taken out in the UK for driving around private property. See egen egendom below. Must be covered, though, by any public i.e. third-party liability ins. taken out. '... UK Shops : Insurance : *Car and Motoring Insurance*. AA Insurance. Established motoring and travel organisation offering breakdown cover ...* 'SalusAnsvar trafikförsäkring. 5 ... bilen. Din trafikförsäkring gäller *inte för skador på din egen bil eller på egendom* i denna. ...' www.1st4ukshopping.co.uk/shops/ Insurance/Car_and_Motoring_Insurance/ www.whiplash.pp.se/forsakring/ Villkor/salusansvar-trafikvillkor.htm |

Trafikförsäkring motor vehicle liability insurance Explanation: I believe this is the fullcorrect phrase in UK and USA, and seems to be preferred term on EU sites. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs 19 mins (2004-09-24 09:03:51 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- On second thoughts, it perhaps needs the added words \"on public highways\" to distinguish this insurance from bilansvarsförsäkring Reference: http://www.fsa.gov.uk/vhb/html/ICOB/ICOB7.6.html Reference: http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/dmvfaqs.htm |
