19 § Den som har utgett skadestånd med anledning av skada som avses i denna lag
inträder intill det utgivna beloppet i den skadelidandes rätt till
patientskadeersättning. Detta gäller dock inte om patientskadeersättningen
skulle ha kunnat krävas tillbaka av den skadeståndsskyldige enligt 20 § första
stycket.

produktansvarslagen (1992:18), inträder försäkringsgivaren intill det utgivna
beloppet i den skadelidandes rätt till skadestånd enligt den lagen.
Omfattas en skada av trafikförsäkring enligt trafikskadelagen (1975:1410) och
har patientskadeersättning lämnats för skadan, inträder försäkringsgivaren
intill det utgivna beloppet i den skadelidandes rätt till trafikskadeersättning.

Explanation:
Yes, Chris S. I feel that the doctrine or principle of subrogation - that I incidentally learned at Surrey almost half a century ago in insurance as part of the England & Wales (and, tangentially Irish & Scottish, commercial law) syllabus - does the trick.

Note again, contrary to thousands or millions of G/hits and even Llodys insurance translators' opinions or onions that make me cry, it is - legalistically - subrogation *to* a party *in* the latter's rights ('shoes') and not to the latter's rights.
