Swedish term or phrase: obeslaget
On an old (1812) estate inventory from Sweden, a "Nyt obeslaget skrin" is included. I can't seem to find a definition of "obeslaget" that fits the context. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

English translation:without metal reinforcements
Explanation:
I'm pretty sure of the meaning, but the translation feels a bit cumbersome. An alternative might be to simply call it "plain".

without fittings (plain)

Explanation:
Agneta got the answer actually, and "plain" is probably best in this context
However as a definition for a glossary, I feel "without fittings" is better, broader and less cumbersome than "without metal reinforcements".

neutral  Agneta Pallinder: Just pondering whether an "obeslaget skrin" might still have a lock fitted, so would not quite be without fittings.

-> It could, probably one internal to the casing so only the keyhole shows, but this level of detail would be (has been?) omitted in an estate inventory.

agree  Deane Goltermann: fittings is the word, as awkward as it sounds to my ears...
