Swedish to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-) / microbiology lab procedures
Swedish term or phrase: hänvisning / referenser
In the table of contents of a report covering the SOP (standard operating procedures) of a microbiology lab, there's a section listed with the title of "Hänvisning," which I would normally take to mean "Reference." However, right after that section appears a section entitled "Referenser." How best to handle this translation. It seems redundant to translate the sections as "Reference" and "References," respectively. Any alternative suggestions?

remission/reference

Explanation:
Hi Cynthia, I'm translating the same document into Spanish and I was about to post the same question! But hten I did some research and decided to use "remisión" and "referencia" in Spanish.

I was hesitating about the meaning of "remission" in English, but then I found this:

Hope it helps!

Yes, alpia, I was unsure if the English word shares the meaning of "remission" and I looked it up. Although Merriam Webster says it doesn't, I found the afore-mentioned link in which our colleague says:

"This is confirmed by most decent dictionaries, including the Oxford Business Spanish Dictionary (2002) for \"remisión\":

\"remission; (referencia) cross-reference\"

Although, I admit it might not be the best solution in English
