down with the kids/know what's going on

Explanation:
'Liksom' is just an add-on 'like', or 'know what I mean?' To 'ha koll' is to know what's going on, be down with what kids like etc.

like cool

Explanation:
It's hard for a granddad like me to keep up with young people's slang, but "cool" seems to be popular in USA, UK and - untranslated - in Sweden. Is "koll" the way it might be spelled in Swedish?
I agree with Matt that 'liksom' = like as add-on.

Example sentence(s):
  • You don't want to be a dad who's not like cool .

Asker: Thanks Ellis. I believe "koll" has to do with "kolla"
