"формирует контур ветки точным наложением проволоки". Еще у меня в голове всплыл "выверенный изгиб", но вроде как стиль этого не требует:)

Авторы имеют в виду (говоря об источнике вдохновения) технологию формирования бонсай с помощью проволоки:
