Zgadzam się, że capitel to głowica. Natomiast w wypadku, gdyby chodziło o głowicę wieży mogłby to być dach cebulasty popularny w arch. cerkiewnej.
Podaj więcej kontekstu, o jakiej budowli piszesz, i czy z niego wynika, czy mowa jest o dachu czy o filarze.

No tak, wynika z tekstu, że świątynia jest wykończona tymi 'capiteles bulbosos', więc raczej chodzi o dachy. Z tym, że na zdjęciu, jakie właśnie znalazłam tu: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://static.andaluc...

(strasznie długi ten link) nie widać za bardzo dachu cebulastego, raczej po prostu chełmowy.
