agree  Wolfgang Hummel: Ich stimme grds zu. Ein Phonolith ist wohl ein tertiäres Gestein aus Kalifeldspat o. ä. Auch "pitón" als "Kuppe" leuchtet mir ein. Warum aber **Stau**kuppe?

  -> Danke! Phonolithe sind quarzfreie Vulkanite, in D bekannt z.B. von Hohentwiel oder Kaiserstuhl. Die Laven sind zähflüssig, fließen nicht so aus wie etwa die Basalte auf Hawaii, sie stauen sich, bilden eher Dome/Kuppen/Stöcke an oder dicht unter der Oberfl
