Programa RAICES


RAICES (Red de Argentinos Investigadores y Científicos en el Exterior) es un programa de la Secretaría de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Productiva dependiente del Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Productiva de la República Argentina.

Propósito:

El propósito del Programa RAICES es fortalecer las capacidades científicas y tecnológicas del país por medio del desarrollo de políticas de vinculación con investigadores argentinos residentes en el exterior, así como de acciones destinadas a promover la permanencia de investigadores en el país y el retorno de aquellos interesados en desarrollar sus actividades en la Argentina.

Objetivos:

1.
Difundir las actividades científicas y tecnológicas del país en el exterior.
2.
Incrementar la vinculación entre investigadores argentinos residentes en el país y en el extranjero.
3.
Mejorar la calidad y disponibilidad de la información acerca de los investigadores y profesionales argentinos altamente capacitados que residen en el exterior.

neutral  Muriel Vasconcellos: I think you're off-target. PAV is about investing $$ in areas of research that aren't getting much attention. I understand that the text is about trying to attract researchers to the program.

Googling, I found this translated three times as “Vacancy Area Program” on the following sites:

However, as the name “Vacancy Area Program” seems pretty literal and leaves out the idea of recruitment, I think the idea would be clearer if that were added.

Also, since the PAV seems to have to do with recruiting professionals for scientific-technological research in areas of strategic importance to the country’s development, the addition of "strategic" and "research" could make that even clearer.
I have parentheses around "Strategic" and "Research" because I think any of these would work:
