Spanish term or phrase: santidad tipográfica
A footnote in an academic paper on Empress Maria of Austria. She spent the last years of her life in a convent in Madrid, and was buried there. However, there was controversy about exactly where that should be and at one point the King wanted her moved to El Escorial. As it was she was moved from one spot in the convent to another.

The client has given me this clarification...

So basically this writer rather pompously elevated the Empress to near-saint status, saying she was a "saint on paper", although not a proper beatified one.

I suggested "near saintliness" but he said no, it should be more specific. I would add to this that it has to sound "17th century-like", so "Saint(hood) on paper" is no good.

Any suggestions? The client is happy with leaving it in Spanish, but I'd rather not

Thanks Patricia, a nice suggestion. In the end I used “beatification on paper only”.
