Spanish term or phrase: fajos de punto
This is a footnote from a text on Argentina's participation in editions of the International Penitentiary Congress held in the late 19th C. The footnote lists items made by prisoners that Argentina sent an exposition held as part of the congress::

Dos fajos de punto

Since it is a list, I can offer no further context.

kitted cummerbunds

Explanation:
Could be an option - cummerbunds were widely worn in the 19th C.

Example sentence(s):
  • CLASSIC FORMAL: Cummerbund set includes a cummerbund with matching bow tie

tricot

Explanation:
Tricot is a fabric used to make corsets and girdles. Of this I am 100 percent certain. In your context, it is the term that is meant.

If the fajo was used by women, then corset or girdle is correct, the difference being that the corset is worn around the thorax and the girdle around the hips.

If the fajo was used by men, then I would think the most likely translation would be "truss" which can also be made with tricot. A truss is a device worn around the thorax to give support to the back. It is also worn by men who suffer from hernias.

BTW, the reason I know this is because I am old, and remember when women wore girdles, and I remember Playtex commercials for girdles that specifically mentioned tricot in their advertising. Also, no type of fajo would ever be knitted.

Sorry, it was the bras, not the girdles, that were advertised as being made with
tricot.
