Parece una deformación de calcañar, 'parte posterior de la planta del pie' (DRAE), la cual es común que se raje por el tiempo, exceso de trabajo y falta de cuidado de los pies. Esta palabra aparece deformada en cascañales en el habla de Cuba. Y luego, en el e-mail a corregir, cascanales.

Seems like a deformation of calcañar, rare part of the sole (definition available in DRAE), which usually cracks due to time, excess of work and lack of care of the feet. This word appears deformed into cascañales in the speech of Cuba. And then, in the e-mail you must edit, cascanales.
