Spanish term or phrase: Fiscalía General del Estado de Guanajuato
I know this term is already on KudoZ, but I'm translating a document where the terms Fiscalía General del Estado de Guanajuato and Procuraduría General de Justicia del Estado de Guanajuato are listed as two separate entities. However, everywhere I've searched, they are synonymous and mean Office of the Attorney General. Of course I can't use the same term for both.

"los servidores públicos de la Procuraduría General de Justicia del estado de Guanajuato continualán ocupando los cargos equivalents de la Fiscalía General..."

English translation:Chief State Prosecutor's Office of the State of Guanajuato
Explanation:
This term is translated in the 11th ed of the Diccionario de términos jurídicos, Alcaraz and others as Chief State Prosecutor's Office. The dictionary entry states that it is approximately equal to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) or the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), (English legal system).
Additionally, a fiscal in Mexico (and Guanajuato) is a prosecutor. I was previously a prosecutor and when describing my job to friends in Guanajuato I said I was a fiscal.

agree  Adrian MM.: No target-readership specified, the asker is US, so hard to pin down but cf. Scotland https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Procurator_fiscal A procurator fiscal (pl. procurators fiscal), sometimes called PF or fiscal, is a public prosecutor in Scotland

Office of the Guanajuato State Attorney General

Explanation:
... or Guanajuato State Attorney General's Office.

Note that in much of Mexico, the Procuraduría became the Fiscalía as part of the criminal justice reforms implemented over the last decade or so.
