If you are looking for Spanish words, you should configure Google settings to focus on Spanish language pages.

My spell checker did not offer any alternatives/corrections, it just highlighted the word and I assumed it was too technical. And Google came up with results with the mispelt term, so I thought of posting it here.

Nonetheless, a spell-checker (or Google, for that matter) would have told you that the mystery word was mis-spelled.

Thank you for your comment, but I think that you both assumed that I had not done any searching work before posting this question here. Indeed, I checked my usual resources but what I did not know is that the term was mispelt in the original document, so I could not find anything. And as I said, I did not want to rely on Google results as my only reference. This is why I posted this here. And I think John used an inappropriate tone and made wrong assumptions.

The Internet is not a "fix all" but then neither is this site. Both of then are valuable research tools. I have solved many a problem with language and translation issues by researching on the web (using sites like Linguee) and in fact ProZ actually asks that users only post questions AFTER prior research has failed. Frankly, you could have solved this one with a SP-EN dictionary....

If your advice is to "guess" what the word means just by looking at random multi-context Google results without any other serious reference, my answer would be no, thanks. I wanted to find serious answers, which is why I posted this. And by the way, nobody is forced to answer, including you.

You may have heard of it. Try tossing your mystery word into Google and it not only fixes the spelling mistake but also gives you tons of sources for an answer.
