Spanish term or phrase: gobernacion politica departmental
Stamp at the top of a Salvadoran marriage certificate. A couple of working translations: "departmental home office" or "departmental office of the interior?" La primera traduccion me parece una que tiene mas que ver con una corporacion. He encontrado estos dos traducciones posibles en un diccionario latinoamericano pero tienen Uds. mejor traducciones? El documento fue cumplido en la alcaldia municipal de San Salvador.

In this case, “departamental” means “de/perteneciente/ relacionado con un departamento”, and “departamento” refers to a political-administrative division of the country, roughly equivalent to a state.

“Gobernación política” could be “internal affairs”.

So, I believe that “State authority of the Ministry of Internal Affairs/ Ministry of the Interior” (where "state" is used as opposed to "national") could be a possible translation.
