Law/Patents - Law: Contract(s) / proceso arbitral
Spanish term or phrase: no se amparen las pretensiones
Contexto: Proceso arbitral - Contrato de cesión minera

En caso no se amparen las pretensiones de una de las partes, los gastos serán asumidos según lo determine el tribunal arbitral.

I think here amparar is not use in the sense of protect, but more in the sense of accept, but would like to know the exact word to translate the phrase.
Thanks for your suggestions

Explanation:
I wonder whether ampararse - in Peru - does mean uphold or being successful..... The web ref. below doesn't suggest as much.

Asker: Hello Tom. I have just checked with a friend of mine who is a lawyer (and also notary public) about the sense of "amparar" and he said the sense is "dar la razón". Thank you for your help.
