It's like an iced oyster, but I'm really confused about the "en anterior" part of the sentence.

Hi everyone, thanks for the answers. As I said, this is not only referred to the oysters.They use "en anterior" in some other examples I posted here: For Minestrone and for a fish: "Anterior a 8 mujol".

... defined as "the main course of a meal",doesn't seem to make sense, as it sounds more like a starter. Perhaps the restaurant in question has different sections and "anterior" refers to one of them?

Es una idea loca, pero se me ocurrió que tal vez anterior podrían estar usándolo como sinónimo de entrada?? Como first course. Justo las ostras y el minestrone son platos livianos, tipo entrada. Y cuando hablan de mullet, se referirían a la entrada que va con el mullet. Tiene sentido?

I found some other instance where they say: "Anterior a 8 mujol". Mujol is a fish, a mullet in English.

Rick and Gareth, it's a documentary, and they are Spanish speakers. The expression is obviously originally in Spanish. It's a sophisticated restaurant, so maybe it has to do with some process in food preparation. But they don't say it.

Hola a todos y gracias. No, definitivamente dicen "ostra hielo en anterior". Also hearing: "Minestrone en anterior". This is often repeated.

It has just occurred to me that the author of the menu might not be a native speaker of Spanish. Maybe s/he meant the idea of 'before'(?) What this might mean in terms of oysters and chilled/on ice etc I do not claim to know.

The "en anterior" bit does not seem to lend anything to the translation. I would ignore it as it does not seem to make too much sense.
