This comes from a presentation about a company offering installation and maintenance services for refrigeration equipment, vending machines, coffee machines, etc. In it they describe the services offered by the company and in this particular section it says:

I have been unable to find anything online that can help me translate "toma aérea." Any help would be appreciated.

  -> Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I have had two replaced in different locations, one ordered by an electrician I had hired, and he got it done for me free! Both were done by the electric company.
disagree  sbootman: Following the link below we see it is a socket or plug. The context doesn't say which. It is "aérea" in that it is not fixed (to a wall), but loose.

agree  sbootman: "Suspended" "hanging" or maybe "loose" as contrasted with rigidly attached. It is indeed a "toma(corriente)" and "aérea" in that it is not rigidly fixed to a structure.
