Se denomina color tetragenerado al obtenido por la suma de los cuatro generadores (negro, blanco, amarillo, rojo), que da como resultado un color marrón neutro.
Esta mezcla se puede realizar mezclando dos colores bigenerados, por generadores distintos, produciendo el fenómeno de neutralización.
También se pueden obtener colores tetragenerados mezclando un color trigenerado con el generador que no forma parte de él.
