proponent / advocate / champion Explanation: I had to find a translation for this term a while back in the context of marketing-industry terminology. The term I settled on in that particular case, i.e, for "prescriptor de marcas", was "brand champion" (I came to believe "influencer" was a slightly different, narrower concept, although it might fall under the broader meaning of "prescriptor" in Spanish). You can read more about that concept here: https://www.justenoughbrave.co.uk/news/ambassadors-v-champio... However, in this case, I can't be sure it's referring to those who are "wearing the t-shirt" of a particular brand or method of payment (which is ultimately the technology of a particular brand). I feel inclined to go for a less specific term, i.e., a proponent or advocate of the technology more generally, such as perhaps a business that offers customers the use of this technology or recommends it over other methods, or even an unpaid reviewer or critic. In the article cited below, for example, I'm fairly sure that by "prescriptor" they're referring to a "brand champion": ¿Qué diferencia hay entre un influencer y un prescriptor? In the end, it's up to you how you feel "prescriptor" is being used in the text and what you think is the best fit. |
