English translation:ability to remember new facts
Explanation:
That’s how I’d resolve it in this situation. It would happily sit alongside "working memory" (bezprostredné zapamätávanie)

“Nejprve je porušena vštípivost (zapamatování čerstvých faktů).”

encoding

Explanation:
podľa mňa pôjde o encoding, aspoň súdiac podľa linkov nižšie.

Pamäť ako psychický proces sa skladá z procesov vštepovania, uchovania a obnovovania psychických zážitkov, operácií a motorických úkonov, t. j. individuálnych skúseností.
http://www.pulib.sk/elpub2/FHPV/Kubani5/pdf_doc/7.pdf

Tri zložky pamäti:
Vštiepivosť (schopnosť príjimať nové vnemy)
Retencia (schopnosť držať v pamäti nezmenené vnemy)
Výbavnosť ( schopnosť si podľa potreby uvedomiť a vybaviť žiadaný vnemy)

From an information processing perspective there are three main stages in the formation and retrieval of memory:
Encoding or registration: receiving, processing and combining of received information
Storage: creation of a permanent record of the encoded information
Retrieval, recall or recognition: calling back the stored information in response to some cue for use in a process or activity

možno ešte lepšie by bolo dať „encoding ability", napr. ako v tomto článku:

working memory

Explanation:
Distinction Between Short-Term Memory and Working Memory
Short-term memory is often used interchangeably with working memory, but the two should be utilized separately. Working memory refers to the processes that are used to temporarily store, organize and manipulate information. Short-term memory, on the other hand, refers only to the temporary storage of information in memory.
http://psychology.about.com/od/memory/f/short-term-memory.ht...

Working memory is the system that actively holds multiple pieces of transitory information in the mind, where they can be manipulated. This involves execution of verbal and nonverbal tasks—such as reasoning and comprehension—and makes them available for further information-processing.[1] Working memory is generally used synonymously with short term memory, depending on how these two forms of memory are defined.[2] Working memory includes subsystems that store and manipulate visual images or verbal information, as well as a central executive that coordinates the subsystems. It includes visual representation of the possible moves, and awareness of the flow of information into and out of memory, all stored for a limited amount of time.[3] Working memory tasks require monitoring (i.e., manipulation of information or behaviors) as part of completing goal-directed actions in the setting of interfering processes and distractions. The cognitive processes needed to achieve this include the executive and attention control of short-term memory, which permit interim integration, processing, disposal, and retrieval of information. These processes are sensitive to age: working memory is associated with cognitive development, and research shows that its capacity tends to decline with old age. Working memory is a theoretical concept central both to cognitive psychology and neuroscience. In addition, neurological studies demonstrate a link between working memory and learning and attention.

Short-term memory should be distinguished from working memory, which refers to structures and processes used for temporarily storing and manipulating information (see details below)
