Kod veličina koje eksponencijalno opadaju sa vremenom, u srpskom se izraz "poluvreme" često koristi za vreme potrebno da merena veličina opadne na polovinu početne vrednosti. U tom smislu je "poluvreme" ekvivalentno engleskom "half decay time". Ako vam "poluvreme" zvuči rogobatno, "vreme" bi bio jednostavniji, mada nešto manje precizan izraz.
