Asker: I saw this possible answer already. But I don't like it because it seems too much like a word-for-word translation from Russian. Maybe the "club competition" is a British English term. I am in Canada and I have never heard of this.

Asker: Thanks for the link to the UEFA page. It's interesting because I was already looking at that webpage when you listed that link. :) In my context it is referring to basketball, but maybe it doesn't matter what sport it is. Thanks
