This is about a survey of university graduates, their expectations vs. reality of their job (non)preparedness:

Проще говоря, молодежь понимает, что жилье всегда можно купить (или арендовать) при наличии соответствующих финансовых возможностей - были бы эти возможности.
С высоким практицизмом в понимании хорошей работы - абсолютным доминированием внимания к зарплате и карьере - несколько контрастируют ответы студентов на вопрос "Чем вас привлекает эта специальность или профессия?" (**допускались до грех ответов**).

The meaning of the idiom escapes me.
