How would you express this sentence in a more concise and understandable form in English? It's from the Death Certificate (Свидетельство о смерти под графой "Место государственной регистрации"), and it reads:)

"Специализированный отдел государственной регистрации актов гражданского состояния смерти по г. Саратову Управления по делам записи актов гражданского состояния Правительства Саратовской области."

The best rendition I've come up with is this:

Specialized Department of the State Registrar for the civil status of death registration for the city of Saratov for the General Civil Registrar Office of the Government of Saratov Region.

I completely removed the word "acts" in "civil acts registration". Am I being too lax in my interpretation?

Any other suggestions to make it closer to the meaning but not so wordy. Thank you in advance.

agree  The Misha: Yesssss!!! I absolutely love this "State Registrar of Death" thing. It sounds almost like the name of some evil character from a shooting game with dungeons and dragons. Yum!
