Inventive method (device, system, substance, etc.) означает ровно то же самое. Отличие чисто стилистическое. Перевод второй конструкции как "заявленный способ (устройство, система, вещество)" в ряде случаев тоже годится, поскольку имеет по сути то же смысловое содержание. Стилистически отличающиеся варианты иногда применяют и сами составители, и переводчики. Здесь, скорее, дело вкуса и/или предпочтений конкретного заказчика. |
