Bus/Financial - Business/Commerce (general) / mission in business strategy
Russian term or phrase: это так для красоты!
From an interview with the head of a consultancy firm about the importance of business strategy. Here she is talking about the importance of formulating the company's mission.

Некоторые вообще считают, что миссия вообще не нужна, дескать мы просто должны зарабатывать деньги и все. А Миссия – ***это так для красоты!***. На самом деле если заняться разработкой формулировки миссии достаточно серьезно, привлечь к процессу сотрудников и руководство, то вы получите в свои руки очень эффективный инструмент.

At present I am guessing that this means ""The Mission is not just for ornament!" But these is no negative in the original.

[And the Mission, they believe,] is a bla-bla-bla just for appearances' sake

Explanation:
for appearances' sake/for the sake of appearances

if you do something for appearances' sake, you are trying to behave how people expect you to, especially to hide your true situation or feelings

bears a purely decorative function

Explanation:
The meaning of the Russian phrase seems obvious to me as a native speaker, the way the actual English target should be worded is debatable.

Это так – для красоты, т.е. НЕ ПРИОРИТЕТНО. Так - дань моде. "Положено", "принято", "comme il faut", "как у людей", "ради соседей", ради "княгини Марьи Алексевны"...

Но потом оказывается, что это, казалось бы, праздное упражнение в креативности небесполезно.

The Mission IS (sic! -- no negation/negative) just for ornament.

neutral  Oleg Lozinskiy: "Это так – для красоты, т.е. NOT NECESSARY" - Why "not NECESSARY"? А "искусством ради искусства" обычно занимаются те, кто не считает своей целью "просто зарабатывать деньги и все".
