marker posts Explanation: I'm not at all sure if I have the right image in my mind, but this is what the phrase is making me think of; I imagine "lamelari" means they're kind of "flat" or "blade-like" rather than tube-like. Here are some pictures of what I mean: http://prismotrafficproducts.com/products/asp/motorway.asp "The motorway marker posts alongside the hard shoulder os a motorway, are spaced every 100m. You can use these posts to judge the distance between you and the vehicle in front." http://www.advancedmotorists.co.uk/test_tips.asp "Our Flexible Hazard Marker Post is vandal resistant and will spring back into position even after being run over by a vehicle." http://www.dee-organ.co.uk/management3.htm -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 hrs (2007-07-21 04:20:31 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Here's a rather involved forum discussion about them with three more photos, including one showing them in the middle of a road (they're towards the bottom of the page - you have to scroll down quite a bit): "I think you are referring to hazard marker posts, two examples given below..." http://www.sabre-roads.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=215264 |
