Don't jazz me Explanation: o sugestie... "Nu mă lua cu vrăjeala" înseamnă de fapt "Nu mă minţi" (http://dexonline.ro/definitie/Las - lasă vrăjeala! expr. nu te cred!) Jazz as a verb ... could mean 'to exaggerate to' or 'to lie to'. For example: Don't jazz me. Also: When you jazz up something, you make it more interesting. (http://www.blurtit.com/q144729.html) Slang: To exaggerate or lie to: Don't jazz me. (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/jazz) |

don't try sucking up to me Explanation: Sau cut the sucking up, don't you go sucking up to me now, etc. Asta înseamnă a lua cu vrăjeala. Varianta e foarte populară în SUA, din cunoştinţele mele. suck-up (idiomatic, chiefly with "to") To adulate or flatter somebody excessively, generally to obtain some personal benefit or favour. Jimmy sucked up to the English teacher hoping he would get an A. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/suck_up Alte variantei: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suck-up -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2012-10-08 18:08:26 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Vrăjeală: pare să aibă mai multe sensuri, în funcţie de context. Unul dintre ele este de a cuceri (femeile, de obicei) cu cuvinte măgulitoare, etc. Acesta este sensul care cred că se potriveşte aici. |
