A veterinary premix is a drug intended for the manufacture of medicated feed for animals or fish. Premixes are mixtures of one or more pharmaceutical substances that are solely intended for blending with animal feed. They can be found either as a powder or in granulate form. Premix must always be mixed with animal feed before use and authorised feed mills are therefore able to manufacture medicated animal feed for animals or fish.
