rooms are partly inter-connecting (SAU: interconnecting)
Explanation:
There may be a technical architectural term for this but this term would be understood by UK English speakers anyway, possibly US English speakers as well. Many older and stately homes have inter-connecting rooms.

We could also say "adjoining" rooms, example below. For a technical or legal document I think the term interconnecting or inter-connecting works better.

All terms, "inter-connecting", "connecting" (both imply same thing).
also, "non-connecting" would all be understood.

To clarify: "adjoining" is probably more a more generic description. Connecting or Interconnecting are slightly more technical given the circumstances.

"This suite of three delightful interconnecting rooms have been restored to their original splendour"

I do not know the context, but as you say some are and some are not connecting, you could say "the apartment consists of both connecting and non-connecting rooms" or "The layout of the rooms is partly interconnected..."

Or better,
"...The room plan(layout) of the apartment is partly inter-connected"

You can use either "plan" or "layout" here. The idea here implies that some rooms are interconnected and some are not due to the use of "room plan" or "room layout".

neutral  Lara Barnett: The glossary entry is not very accurate. Semi-private rooms means that you share the room with someone or other people. I do not think this is the proper meaning of the word. The link http://www.housing.mtu.edu/newbuilding/design.html

disagree  Anca Nitu: The glossary entry is just plain wrong. You can have a semi private room in a hospital when you share it with another person

Example sentence(s):
  • "The 3 interconnecting rooms of the bungalows are situated next to each other, side by side."
  • "...while court musicians played in adjoining rooms..."

adjacent bedroom(s)

Explanation:
Intrucat dormitoarele sun cele in care se intra din sufragerie - cam asa ar fi un apartament decomandat, m-am gandit la solutia de mai sus. Nu e ideala dar mie mi se pare clara.

a communicating room would be an adjacent bedroom with a connecting door between both rooms- that is becoming rare in hotels now. Ask for 'des chambres communicantes' if you want to book such bedrooms.

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_a_communicating_room_in_a_...

The word means next to each other. For instance, if your bathroom opens into your bedroom, it is adjacent. Most often, a living room and a dining room are adjacent to each other.

neutral  mihaela.: Adjacent bedroom pur si simp inseamna ca dormitoarele sunt unul langa altul. Fie intr-un apartament deocmandat fie in unul semidecomandat :-)

N bedroom apartment

Explanation:
Aceasta este expresia uzuala in descrierea unu apartament care consta dintr-un living room ca spatiu de trecere spre bucatarie, dining room (daca este cazul) si zona de noapte.

s.a.m.d.

Apartamentul standard este ceea ce, in Romania, se numeste semidecomandat. Apartamentele de tip decomandat sunt mai rare si abia atunci se face o nota suplimentara: N bedroom apartment, separate living room.
