município com foros de vila Kreisstadt mit Stadtrechten Explanation: "Wurde zur Kreisstadt ernannt und besitzt seitdem die Stadtrechte." Ich hatte kürzlich noch einmal ein "Gespräch" mit einer unserer brasilianischen Kolleginen. Für Brasilien ist die Übersetzung "Kreisstadt" einfach die exakteste, wenn wir von município sprechen, da dem município für gewöhnlich mehrere Städte in den "distritos" untergeordnet sind (in Portugal sind die distritos etwas ganz anderes, nämlich Regierungsbezirke!). Mit "foros de vila" sind hier eindeutig die Stadtrechte gemeint (cf. Def. Aurélio: "foro = uso ou privilégio garantido pela lei"). Vila mit Dorf zu übersetzen halte ich (aufgrund der Größe und Sonderrechte) für keine glückliche Wahl. Dörfer haben im Deutschen gar keine Sonderrechte (auch nie gehabt). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 49 mins (2004-05-18 12:08:15 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Ich habe soeben nocheinmal nachgeforscht: Offenbar bezieht sich dein Bericht auf Santa Cruz (Madeira). Auch hier halte ich den Begriff Kreisstadt f+r angemessen (heute spricht man für gewöhnlich von \"concelho\"), da die umliegenden Dörfer eingemeindet wurden.
