Realmente o Brasil, como um todo, tem problemas para controle do desmatamento em seu território. Entretanto o Brasil, práticamente, não aproveita mata nativa para produção de papel e celulose. O Brasil é um país de grande extensão territorial e com um clima extremamente favorável ao plantio.
A isto se agregaram tres fatores determinantes:
- a evolução da engenharia genética que faz com que o crescimento das arvores seja controlado e extremamente rápido e igual
- a localização das fábricas em áreas próximas aos grandes plantios com reduzidos custos de transporte da matéria prima
- os espetaculares resultados da industria produtora de papel e principalmente celulose nos últimos anos com ***uma moderna base produtiva instalada*** que permite negociar preços em função da demanda mundial,
