Hi everyone! I'm translating an article describing a neglected vineyard being taken into new hands. I'm not sure of the English term for 'falhas' - is it gaps? And would you 'replant gaps? Or reinstate them? Thanks for your help!

A vinha velha da José de Sousa tem o pormenor curioso dos arames de suporte estarem instalados em pilares de
pedra dando um aspeto menos habitual à vinha. Outro pormenor curioso é o facto de a vinha se encontrar murada por um muro de pedra. Numa altura de crise não havia trabalho na região e José de Sousa decidiu fazer o muro o para
dar trabalho e rendimento aos homens da região. A vinha velha foi plantada em 1956 tendo portanto quase 60 anos o que para o Alentejo é considerável. Depois da morte de José de Sousa a vinha foi um pouco mal tratada e a
ocupação no pós 25 de Abril também não ajudou tendo sido cometidos alguns erros, com a plantação de castas desadequadas em algumas falhas que existiam. Houve que a recuperar, arrancando algumas videiras menos adequadas e ***replantando as falhas***.
