a clash of knowledge/wisdom that is quite accustomed to being established by policy Explanation: Lordy! I guess you've read up on Jacques Rancière and his views on knowledge etc. I don't think I've expressed it all that well, but I think the author, like JR, is saying something about how perceived wisdom/knowledge is dictated by policy. "Rancière challenges his readers to consider equality as a starting point rather than a destination.(...) Ranciere claims that the poor and disenfranchised should feel perfectly able to teach themselves whatever it is they want to know. He believes that anyone can lead and that the oppressed should not feel bound to experts or reliant on others for their intellectual emancipation." |

see explanation Explanation: The conflict between these analytic approaches and the knowledge generated by them is therefore entirely fruitful analytically. If this conflict is taken seriously, it is a conflict between knowledge systems involved in the constitution of politics, as understood by Jacques Rancière. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 9 hrs (2012-10-25 06:51:14 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- That is a translation of part of the overall source text. |
