In a book I am reading 'tomando canto' is defined as "drinking care, filling oneself up with special and gentle attention." As I want to use it as a reference, I wanted to confirm this use of the term. I am still a bit confused as you have said it is 'conta' not 'canto.' Does it differ regionally, I wonder? Thank you.
