It is true that pigs don't sweat... Anyway, the idiomatic expression does exist!
Just for the curiosity:

"What does it mean to “sweat like a pig”? It means to really, really sweat. To have a lot of sweat on your skin. To drip and drip with beads of sweat.";
"When people sweat they 'smell like pigs'. I think this is how the phrase originated. Instead of saying smelling like a pig people say "sweating like a pig.""
