performed/completed the ceremony of baptism/completed the formalities of baptism Explanation: Diria assim, tendo em conta a frase original fornecida - e partindo do princípio de que o verbo está realmente a ser usado corretamente. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs (2019-05-01 17:34:15 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- A explicação é a seguinte: para realizar um batismo na igreja, normalmente este tem de ser pedido/combinado com o padre, e há documentos envolvidos, no fim o batismo é registado nos livros da igreja, os pais e padrinhos assinam, etc. |

I supplied the ceremony Explanation: The correct technical term in canon law is to "supply the ceremony". "Supplied Ceremonies If the person baptized continues to live, a priest can supply the ceremonies later on. He will not repeat the form, “I baptize thee … etc.” He supplies the exorcism, gives the salt, and anointings and the like." http://www.calefactory.org/sac-baptism.htm CHAPTER V: RITE FOR SUPPLYING CEREMONIES OMITTED IN BAPTISM OF A CHILD Everything takes place as above in Chapter II, except those parts that are provided for in the footnotes. However, according to the "Instruction" of September 26, 1964, the following forms of exorcism are omitted: "Depart from him, etc." (p. 44); "I cast out, etc." (p. 49). "I cast you out, etc." (p. 54). https://sanctamissa.org/en/resources/books-1962/rituale-roma... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 18 hrs (2019-05-02 06:50:01 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- All thanks to Alcinda for pointing me in the right direction. |
